Valentina Covaci holds a BA in History from "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University Iasi (Romania), an MA in Medieval Studies from Central European University Budapest and a RMA from Utrecht University.  She is interested in the history of medieval religious orders, medieval Latin rhetoric and the relationship between Western and Eastern Christianity in the Latter Middle Ages. Her PhD project at the Universiteit van Amsterdam is entitled The Franciscans of Mount Zion and the Representation of the Holy Land: The Power of Rituals.
