History of Corruption is part of a large-scale research project to be funded by the European
Commission’s Seventh Framework Program Anti-Corruption Policies Revisited: Global Trends and European Responses to the Challenge of Corruption. More information about the project and a complete list of participants and work packages is available here.
The history workgroup has been set up in order to examine the definition, development, and diversity of corrupt practices and anticorruption measures in comparative perspective. At the University of Amsterdam the project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Guy Geltner (Medieval Europe), Prof. Dr. James Kennedy (Modern Europe) and Dr. Maaike van Berkel (Medieval Middle East). Together they will coach a postdoc and PhD student.
